Matej Zavec

Matej Zavec (1975) je osnovno glasbeno izobraževanje zaključil na Glasbeni šoli Murska Sobota. Šolanje je nadaljeval na Srednji glasbeni in baletni šoli v Mariboru v razredu Andreja Lorberja. Leta 1993 se je vpisal na študij harmonike na Univerzi za glasbo in scensko umetnost v avstrijskem Gradcu, kjer je študiral pri profesorjih Mogensu Ellegardu, Geiru Draugsvollu in Jamesu Crabbu, pri katerem je 1999 leta diplomiral. Že v času študija je poučeval harmoniko in bil aktiven v različnih glasbenih zasedbah. Leta 2004 je ustanovil »Soboški harmonikarski orkester«, bil je član tria harmonik SLO A3, več let predsednik »Društva harmonikarjev Murska Sobota« in vodja strokovnega odbora za pripravo »Mednarodnega srečanja harmonikarjev«. V založbi Hartman je leta 2006  izdal notni zbirki “Prekmurski ljudski plesi” (priredbe) in “Dance with accordion” (avtorske skladbice za harmoniko),  skupaj z Dejanom Praslom je pripravil zbirko učbenikov HARMONIKA 1, 2, 3 in 4. Njegovi učenci so dobitniki številnih nagrad na državnih in mednarodnih tekmovanjih, na katerih je sodeloval tudi kot član ocenjevalnih komisij. Od leta 2008 je  ravnatelj zasebne »Glasbene šole Beltinci« v Zavodu sv. Cirila in Metoda v Beltincih.

 

 Matej Zavec (1975) completed his elementary music education at the Murska Sobota School of Music. He continued his education at the Secondary Music and Ballet School in Maribor in the class of Andrei Lorber. In 1993, he enrolled in accordion studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria, where he studied in the class of professors Mogens Ellegard, Geir Draugsvoll and James Crabb, graduating in 1999.

He began teaching accordion already during his study and was active in various music bands. In 2004 he founded the Soboški accordion orchestra. He was a member of the SLO A3 accordion trio. For many years he was the president of the Murska Sobota Accordion Society and the head of the expert committee for the preparation of the International Accordion Meeting. In 2006, Hartman published his collections of “Prekmurje Folk Dances” and “Dance with accordion”. Together with Dejan Prasl he compiled a collection of textbooks HARMONIKA (ACCORDION) 1, 2, 3, and 4. His students are winners of numerous awards at national and international competitions in which he also participated as a member of the jury. Since 2008 he has been the director of the private Beltinci School of Music at the St. Cyril and Methodius in Beltinci.
