Teja Ličar Močnik, rojena leta 1978 v družini z glasbenimi koreninami, zato jo glasba spremlja že od ranih let. Pri šestih letih je začela obiskovati glasbeno šolo, kjer je razvijala svojo ljubezen do umetnosti in ustvarjanja. Pričela je z igranjem kljunaste flavte, nadaljevala z učenjem klavirja. Po končani glasbeni šoli se je vpisala na Srednjo glasbeno in baletno šolo v Ljubljani, na oddelek splošne smeri, študijsko pot pa nadaljevala na Akademiji za glasbo v Ljubljani, smer Glasbena pedagogika, kjer je leta 2003 tudi diplomirala. Njena prva ljubezen – klavir ji je ostal zvest, saj jo korepetiranje spremlja še iz osnovnošolskih let. To delo ji omogoča tesno sodelovanje z glasbeniki, iskanje ravnovesja med podporo in izražanjem ter nenehno rast skozi skupno muziciranje. Poleg tega je dejavna pevka in korepetitorka v različnih vokalnih sestavih, kar ji daje dodatno širino pri razumevanju vokalne interpretacije in ansambelskega petja.
Sredi svoje glasbene poti se je pobliže spoznala tudi s citrami, ki so jo s svojo zvočno toplino in izrazno mehkobo popolnoma prevzele. Njene prve korake v svet citer je spremljal učitelj citer in forfesor violine Peter Napret, kasneje pa se je učila igranja tako pri njem kot pri Korneliji Lovko. Nadalje je znanje izpopolnjevala tudi na seminarjih in masterclassih domačih in tujih predavateljev. Že od nekdaj ji je blizu ljudska, narodna glasba, katere bogata melodika in pristnost sta se ob delu s citrami še poglobili in razširili ter postali pomemben del njenega glasbenega izražanja.
Dobrih 20 let let je zaposlena na Glasbeni šoli Idrija, kjer se predano posveča poučevanju in promociji citer v okolišu. Poleg citer poučuje tudi nauk o glasbi, glasbeno pripravnico in predšolsko glasbeno vzgojo in korepetira. Delo z mladimi jo nenehno navdihuje in spodbuja k ustvarjalnosti – zato poleg poučevanja oblikuje tudi lastno učno literaturo, prilagojeno potrebam mladih citrarjev, ki jo narekuje pedagoški proces in vsakodnevno delo v razredu.
Glasba je zanjo več kot poklic – je način življenja, prostor navdiha in povezovanja. Verjame, da skozi poučevanje in ustvarjanje ne predaja le znanja, temveč tudi ljubezen do umetnosti, spoštovanje do tradicije in pogum za lastno izražanje.
Teja Ličar Močnik, born in 1978 into a family with musical roots, has been involved with music since her early years. At the age of six, she began attending music school, where she developed her love of art and creativity. She began playing the recorder and continued learning the piano. After graduating from music school, she enrolled at the Secondary Music and Ballet School in Ljubljana, in the general department, and continued her studies at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana, in the Music Pedagogy department, where she graduated in 2003. Her first love – the piano – has remained faithful to her, as accompanist has accompanied her since her elementary school years. This work allows her to work closely with musicians, find a balance between support and expression, and constantly grow through joint music making. In addition, she is an active singer and accompanist in various vocal ensembles, which gives her additional breadth in understanding vocal interpretation and ensemble singing.
In the middle of her musical journey, she also became more familiar with the zither, which completely captivated her with its sonic warmth and expressive softness. Her first steps into the world of the zither were accompanied by the zither teacher and violin professor Peter Napret, and later she learned to play both with him and with Kornelija Lovko. She further refined her knowledge at seminars and masterclasses with domestic and foreign lecturers. She has always been close to folk and national music, whose rich melody and authenticity have deepened and expanded while working with the zither, becoming an important part of her musical expression. For a good 20 years, she has been employed at the Idrija Music School, where she is dedicated to teaching and promoting the zither in the area. In addition to the zither, she also teaches music theory, music intern and preschool music education, and gives accompaniment. Working with young people constantly inspires her and encourages her to be creative – that is why, in addition to teaching, she also creates her own educational literature, adapted to the needs of young zither players, which is dictated by the pedagogical process and daily work in the classroom.
For her, music is more than a profession – it is a way of life, a place of inspiration and connection. She believes that through teaching and creation she not only passes on knowledge, but also a love of art, respect for tradition and the courage to express oneself.
